Wet brewers' grains contain a large concentration of water (mean = 74%), which requires some special consideration prior to its utilization as a feed resource for beef cattle producers. In order to correctly compare WBG to different feedstuffs, the comparison must be made on a dry matter basis.
Weight loss during drying. During drying, paddy grain will loose weight due to loss of moisture: W i = Initial weight [g]. W f = Final weight [g]. Example: 1000 kg of paddy is harvested at 25% MC, and dried down to 14% MC, what is the final weight of the dried grain?
